I have mentioned the job in the bridal shop before back in March and in the last couple of posts, I did manage to call the tax office and it is true I will lose my £60 a month which is a pain in the arse so out of working for a month after travel costs I would bring home about £30 and that isn't worth me spending 6 hours of my Saturday in a shop, okay if it was computer related then yes I would do it in a second even if it was only £30 a month, it is only a bridal shop and I will not end up in retail again after my degree.
It is really disappointing but after talking to my dad (best advice giver ever!) and my husband, I have come to conclusion not even wasting their time with the job trial as it will be wasting my time and their time when I have no intention of taking the job. It sucks being on this level of poorness in the UK, I am screwed if I get a job as we lose money from the government and from uni, if I don't have a job then we are poor, it is like a catch 22. At the moment I earn about £200 a month from ebay and paid blogging so that will be added onto the £300 I get from uni a month, which is more than I would get at any low hour paid job.
Also I found out an interesting fact that if I earn over £300 a month through other income then I have to say what I have earned, which is NOT happening, not that I earn over £300 a month regularly, £200 extra is pretty good going :)
Anyway I am feeling a bit low now, I just wished it could of worked out but I do hope to go back to another retail job in December as I loved it there last year! And it was amazingly fun ;)

I'm sorry finances aren't going so well for you. Just remember that uni will pay off in time. *hugs*
ReplyDelete£200 from ebay and blogging- wow that is amazing! Im still having to wait about a week untill i have enough posts to be confirmed at ppp :(
ReplyDeleteSorry about the bridal job, im sure something better paid will come up eventually!
Yeah I know it will, just got to keep reminding myself that, thank Amanda :)
ReplyDeleteAw thanks Nichola, a little disappointing but uni has to come first and so does my husband, yeah it takes ages with PPP for some reason they still think I live in USA which I have never done! You will get there :)
ReplyDeleteAww, what a shame! This seems to be an international problem that if you get a low paid job you lose more money than you gain. Did you try to find a computer related job yet? I didn't really have any luck with that.
ReplyDeleteNo not really sucks really, I did have a look but no one is hiring :(
ReplyDeleteI know your not on the dole, but you know what I mean.....
ReplyDeleteThat sucks. but if its nor broke, don't fix it! (I know you love my sayings!) Stick to the PPP and all will be good. The governemnt is rubbish though, your better off being on the dole! How does that work?xxx
ReplyDeleteI can't say I blame you for not taking the job. I wouldn't either, but that is a pretty sucky situation. Been there before, luckily now that I have a kid I'll be able to go to school and have it paid for and no worries about such things. :D
ReplyDeleteWe have the same catch-22 going on here in the states. The government makes sure that you receive as little as possible, whether you're getting it via state/government assistance, or by working on your own.
ReplyDeleteI hope that one way or another you're able to get ahead!
Thanks ladies, yeah it is crap, why is that always the way you try and get a job you lose out on money, but if you were going to spend all your time on your arse then you get all the money you want...
ReplyDeleteWell, at least you can say you tried and you realized it'd be a waste before wasting more of your time
