Car insurance

I have been going back and forth about learning how to drive, I thought being 23 years old I should and my mother in law is willing to pay for my lessons but then I have the added issues of getting a car and looking for car insurance. I looked at a few websites about insurance and extended service plans, the cheapest one I found for a driver without no claims and for a learning was £500 so it looks like I have a lot of saving to do.
