Broadband tax & hackers

So I was reading my normal magazine 'Computer Active' and I came across a few interesting articles, one was on the idea that the government want to start taxing us brits to use the internet, I know £6 a year is not a lot but at the moment no one I know ever gets the broadband speed  that they paid for, I know I don't, so being taxed over the fact of my broadband speed which I am not getting is stupid!  I would pay if I did get my top speed.. oh and the money that they raise is to allow pay for the digital switchover, so again I am paying my tax for people on benefits, now that just pisses me off!

Ofcom Anna Bradley said the Panel had already heard rumblings of discontent from consumers about the proposed charge and believed that, to avoid paying, some people may disconnect their landline phone.

You know I would prob do this as I never even use my house phone apart from when I am being stalked to buy this and that, if it wasn't for the internet I wouldn't have a house phone, at least with my mobile I can only answer calls I want to answer.

Oh and another thing in my mag is about how the UK and USA are working together to create a national cyber-security centre, to protect us against people hacking into the government, oh yes that will help us after people leave addresses of people who pay tax on CDs at the tube, ha ha! But I would like to check out this centre, maybe work for them, very interesting...

Okay I am off to read the technology posts on BBC and I really need to get the new computer active... maybe Thursday... (I need to feel better)
