Chicken mess!

So I was going to cook a surprise meal for my husband, chicken casserole with dumplings, all was going well until after I put the chicken in, it was smelling a little funny.

Then I realised it was off! Had to throw it away with the cats giving me guilty looks as they wanted it and now he will have cheesy dumplings and chicken soup, and I'll have vegetable soup and herb dumplings, total mess! Rubbish...
